Glasgow is a very diverse city offering excellent
facilities and efficient transport networks such as frequent bus
services, rail services and underground. Glasgow International Airport
is also conveniently located for the city centre.
The city centre has a fabulous range of shopping
which is highly regarded throughout the UK. Many first class cultural
venues are available such as the recently refurbished art gallery
and museum, the highly acclaimed Burrell Collection set within the
policies of Pollok Park and the fabulous Science Centre located
across the river from the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre
(SECC) which is a must for kids old and young alike, to name but
a few. Theatres and cinemas, pubs and clubs offer a wide and varied
selection of social activities.
Selected to host the Commonwealth Games 2014 underlines Glasgows
determination to promote excellent sporting facilities and many
good local authority sports centres are available throughout the
city.
Glasgow also offers many attractive parks throughout the city and
sits approximately 30mins drive from The Loch lomond and Trossachs
National Park which offers a wealth of outdoor pursuits such as
hill-climbing, walking and water-skiing with some of the best sailing
available on the west coast of Scotland from the nearby Clyde estuary.
The area also provides excellent local primary
and secondary schooling with some notable seats of learning such
as The University of Glasgow in the ever popular west-end and The
University of Strathclyde found in the city centre.
